This site is for members, supporters and those curious about ICU Club at SCCS. ICU is a club that began as a result of seeing a shocking documentary that revealed an ongoing crisis in the East African Country of Uganda. The war in northern Uganda has raged now for 21 years, making it
Africa’s longest running conflict and as described by one UN official: “the world’s worst neglected humanitarian crisis.” The war has led to the displacement of 1.7 million people – over 80% of the region – who now live in camps of the most squalid conditions. According to recent reports, 1,000 people die each week as a result of the poor conditions in these camps. The war is also known for the brutal abduction and use of child soldiers. The Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) has filled its ranks by abducting over 30,000 children. Many of the luckier children who escape abduction are forced to “night commute” each night to sleep under verandas in towns to avoid kidnapping. Tens of thousands of people have been maimed or killed over the course of the conflict (source: http://www.ugandacan.org/history.php).
Visible to those in our spheres of influence that can help raise awareness and money.
Visible to those in our school who need to see a way to live out James 1:22, 27.
Visible to those in our government who have chosen to ignore Uganda’s war, Uganda’s stories and
Uganda’s children.
Visible to our Heavenly Father who hears the requests of the godly (Psalm 4:3).
MISSION STATEMENT
Santa Clarita Christian School’s Invisible Children of Uganda (ICU) Club’s prevailing goal, as a team united under God’s sovereign will, is to move our focus from “self” to those in need by raising both awareness and money to support a charitable cause; and most vitally to share God’s Truth, the Gospel, with those in need here and abroad.

COngrats on your club! It’s a great thing you’re doing to serve the LORD and the people that He created and loved enough to die on the cross for their souls (our souls too!). Since those who believe in Christ as their Savior have eternity secured, we can freely live our lives to help those who may not know Christ and who may not live long enough to learn about Christ…so, it’s a GREAT thing that you guys are doing for Christ!
Our club over at Valencia public high school love the kids in Uganda too and it would be cool if we could join forces with you from time to time!
